Foursquare recently updated its core app, eliminating the check-in functionality (you can still checkin using the companies Swarm app), turning its main app into a recommendation engine.
Foursquare Tips play a big part in its recommendation platform, surfacing keywords and phrases that tie into your interests and queries. But not all tips are meant to be permanently displayed on a venue's listing. For example, some tips are tied to specific promotions that only occur during a specific time of year. With that in mind, the new Foursquare now offers an option to set an expiriation date for a tip.
The process for creating a tip that expires is simple, requiring a couple of extra taps during the creation process.
